In November and December 2024, a residency stay by artist Ondřej Vinš took place in the Orlické Mountains.

In his paintings and photographs, Ondřej Vinš explores the limits of the two-dimensional representation of the Earth’s surface through maps. In his projects, he examines the curvature and plasticity of the land, as well as changes in elevation expressed through contour lines, using field recordings. The romanticising nostalgia present in Vinš’s work sometimes stands in slight contrast to his matter-of-fact, post-conceptual language. Likewise, his use of restraint at times nearly obscures the existential and metaphysical dimensions of his experience of working and staying in nature.
