Artist Michael Kleine and curator Marc Navarro accepted an invitation for a residency that took place in November and December 2024 in the Orlické Mountains and in Prague. During their stay in the Czech Republic, they focused on research and preparations for the upcoming artistic intervention Cabin, which was realised in the summer of 2025 on a meadow and forest site in the Orlické Mountains. As part of their stay in Prague, they presented their work at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and held consultations with students of the Sculpture I studio.
Michael Kleine’s practice recurrently moves between formats, across set design, performance, architecture, music and sculptural work in close dialogue with site and context. In his solo exhibitions and performances, he creates intense collective experiential spaces by focusing equally on the artwork/object, sound, architecture, social situation and visual conditions.
Marc Navarro is a Berlin-based curator and writer. He has curated exhibitions at institutions such as CA2M – Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo in Madrid, Espai 13 – Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, Centre d’Art la Panera in Lleida, Lo Pati – Centre d’Art Terres de l’Ebre in Amposta, MAMT – Museu d’Art Modern de Tarragona, among others.
