Resist Like Woods – forest exhibition
In the forest, there is no admission fee; in the forest, no masks are worn; in the forest, there is no air conditioning; in the forest, no architecture is built for exhibits; in the forest, there are no labels; in the forest, there are exhibitions for all who can at least walk a little, see, touch, bite; in the forest, there is a little talking and little reading; in the forest, birds sing; in the forest, twigs crack underfoot; in the forest, visitors lose track of time; in the forest, there are no opening hours; in the forest, no fluorescent lights or bulbs are replaced; in the forest, there are no guards; in the forest, curators and artists hide behind trees, and artworks court deer, boars, hares, hedgehogs, insects, stumps, mosses, trees, branches, horsetail, grass, ferns, cones, roots, bracket fungi, and other mushrooms. Art belongs in the forest, and the forest belongs within it; that is why we can together believe in something that has faded away, something we have driven out of the white cubes.
